Our Services

Property Transfers and Leasing

We offer a wide range of property services, including property transfers for deceased estates, divorce settlements, conventional sales and lease agreements.

Whether you are buying, selling, or leasing a property, we are here to provide expert legal advice and guidance.

Property Subdivisions

When dividing land into smaller portions or erfs, the services of a Land Surveyor are required to create a new diagram of the land. This diagram is then submitted to the local authorities for approval, following which the sub-divisional plans are reviewed and approved by the Surveyor-General.

Once the plans have been approved, our Conveyancer will take the lead in drafting the necessary documents and registering the Title Deeds for the respective subdivisions of the land.

Property Consolidations

Over the past few decades, we have seen several farms or large pieces of land in the Western Cape, acquired from different owners and merged into wine farms. This process, known as land consolidation, involves consolidating multiple plots of land to form a larger, unified property.

We are well-versed in the legal requirements and procedures involved in land consolidation and register a Title for your newly consolidated property, by issuing a Certificate of Consolidation.

Deceased Estates

We provide comprehensive estate administration services, handling every aspect of the process from obtaining the Letters of Executorship to the final distribution of assets to the heirs. Our experienced team will guide you through the complexities of the administration process, ensuring that your loved one's estate is settled efficiently and with care.

In addition, we offer expert litigation services for deceased estate disputes, representing both heirs and executors in court. We understand that these disputes can be emotional and contentious, and we strive to resolve them with empathy and professionalism.

Wills and Estate Planning

When drafting or amending your Last Will & Testament, we aim to ensure your wishes are not only properly reflected, but done so in such a manner that simplifies the administration process after your passing.

Our estate planning consultations consider important aspects such as estate liquidity, management of assets for minor beneficiaries, appointment of guardians and trustees, protection of business interests, funeral and burial arrangements, and estate duty implications.

Our goal is to ensure that your Executor has a clear roadmap to follow, with all the necessary information required to carry out your last wishes without any complications, ultimately providing peace of mind and security for the future.

Trusts

We offer the establishment and administration of both inter vivos trusts and testamentary trusts as part of our comprehensive estate planning services.

An inter vivos trust is created during the lifetime of the donor (the person who sets up the trust) and can be used to protect and manage assets for the benefit of beneficiaries, such as minor children or disabled dependents.

On the other hand, a testamentary trust is created through the provisions of a will, and takes effect only after the death of the testator (the person who makes the will). This type of trust can be used to provide for the long-term management and protection of assets for beneficiaries, such as ensuring that minor children receive financial support until they reach adulthood.

We can guide you through the process of establishing and managing a trust, ensuring that your wishes are carried out and your assets are protected.

Pro-bono

We believe in the importance of giving back to our community. That's why we are committed to providing pro-bono legal services to those who are unable to afford it.

We understand that legal issues can be complex and overwhelming, and everyone deserves access to quality legal assistance, regardless of their financial situation. Our team is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most, and we are proud to offer our time and expertise to help those in need.
